Networking Night - Trinity College Dublin

Guests are welcomed and directed to the various halls where there a number of bars offering wine, beer and soft drinks. There is live background music in the Dining Hall warming up the atmosphere and guests are encouraged to submit requests.

After the buffet dinner, the main entertainment starts in the Dining Hall.  ‘A Taste of Ireland' is an after-dinner programme of the music, songs and dances of Ireland.  Visually and vocally very colourful it overcomes all language barriers. The balladeers start the programme and accompany themselves on a range of instruments - fiddle, mandolin, banjo, guitar, whistle and bodhran.  They enjoy making music and convey that enjoyment to their audience.  Very quickly the audience sing and clap along with them.

The dancers, in their colourful costumes, present a selection of dances - reels, jigs, hornpipes.  They also entice the guests up to dance when they take partners from amongst them... and this is great fun! The contrast in the programme is a singer accompanying herself on the Irish Harp.

The evening runs for three hours during which guests can visit the buffet tables as often as they wish and enjoy unlimited drinks.
